京都の街並みに残る、取り壊された家屋の痕跡。

古い家並みの残る京都にあっても、刻々と街は変容する。京都在住の写真家・三宅章介は、日々、街を歩き、取り壊された家屋の痕跡に遭遇し、撮り続けてきた。それは、隣接していた建物の外壁に刻印された、多くは切妻屋根の痕跡である。家の輪郭を刻むもの、壁のトタンの表情を驚くほど変えるもの、なぜここに？と不思議な位置に窓が出現するもの......。ひび割れ、煤けた色合い、周囲の看板など、ひとつとして同じものがない痕跡が、かつてそこに在った人々の営みや、建物と建物との関わりを窺わせる。その痕跡は時の流れと共に風化し、そこに新たな建物が建造されると人々の視界から消える。やがて隣接していた壁も解体され、人々の記憶から跡形なく消え去る。ベッヒャーの類型学（タイポロジー）へのオマージュを込めて集積された写真群は、街歩きの貴重な記録であるとともに、建築的観点からの発見や見ることの奥行きを呼び起こす。

京都の街を歩いていると、建物の外壁に取り壊された家屋の痕跡が残されている光景にでくわす。かつて、そこにあった人の営みを刻印した化石のようだ。痕跡は風雨にさらされ、時の流れのなかで磨耗していくだろう。新たな建物が建てば視界から消える。やがては痕跡を印した壁面も解体され、人々の記憶からも跡形なく消え去るにちがいない。
行く川のながれは絶えずして、しかも本の水にあらず。よどみに浮ぶうたかたは、かつ消えかつ結びて、久しくとゞまることなし。世の中にある人とすみかと、またかくの如し。「方丈記」

Typology for Traces of Gable Roofs

When walking the streets of Kyoto I encounter tableaus where the traces of demolished old houses are left on the outer walls of the neighbouring property.

They have the appearance of fossils representing past human's lives. They are exposed to rain and wind, and will over time abrade away or disappear completely when a new building appears.

At some point, in the end, all these outer walls and such tableaus will be demolished, and disappear from our memories without a trace.

'The flow of the river is ceaseless and its water is never the same.

The bubbles that float in the pools, now vanishing, now forming, are not of long duration: so in the world are man and his dwellings.'

三宅章介（みやけあきよし）

1950年神戸生まれ、京都を拠点に活動。
1970年代よりギャラリー16 他で個展、グループ展多数開催。
2018年から2020年にかけて、個展「切妻屋根の痕跡のための類型学」「切妻屋根の痕跡のための類型学 Ⅱ」「切妻屋根の痕跡のための類型学 III ／LIVE」を、Lumen gallery（京都）にて連続開催（KG＋）。

受賞歴に、第5回プリンツ 21 グランプリ展準グランプリ、98年京都美術工芸展優秀賞、99年京展京展賞、2000年さっぽろ国際版画ビエンナーレ Q 氏賞などがある。
